An Exciting Week in Sports!!!

Miami Hurricanes, who moved up one spot to No. 2 in the rankings, will try to take another step toward clinching their first league basketball championship and win their 13th straight conference game on Tuesday night when they host Virginia.

NHL Preview:

Blackhawks Look To Extend Incredible Start Versus Canucks Tuesday

Over the years they have developed quite the rivalry, and this game will have that same intensity as the Chicago Blackhawks host the Vancouver Canucks on Wednesday. Chicago will look to extend its incredible
run of 15-straight games without a regulation loss to open the season, including a 4-0-1 record at home. The Canucks meanwhile are eight points back of the Blackhawks in third place in the Western Conference following back-to-back losses, and have not named a starter for Tuesday’s game. Roberto Luongo has been outstanding this season but has struggled throughout his career against Chicago, so it will be interesting to see who gets the call between he and Corey Schneider as Vancouver looks to hand the Blackhawks their first regulation loss of the season on Tuesday. A couple of other key contests to look forward to include another rivalry game between the Philadelphia Flyers and Pittsburgh Penguins on Wednesday, and then a Northeast Division battle between the Buffalo Sabres and Toronto Maple Leafs on Tuesday night.

NBA Preview:

NBA Regular Season Schedule Resumes Post All-Star Break

The 2013 NBA All-Star game was quite the spectacle, with Chris Paul earning MVP honors after joining elite company when he became just the third player in All-Star history to record 20-plus points and 15-plus assists in the game, something only Magic Johnson and Isaiah Thomas had done before him. Paul and the Clippers will be fortunate to have a couple of days off before getting back in to action on Thursday when they host the San Antonio Spurs, a potential second-round playoff matchup preview. Both teams are still fighting for top spot in the conference and home court advantage, and it will be interesting to see how they come out of the gate following the break. Meanwhile, Kobe Bryant and the Los Angeles Lakers will start their second half against the Boston Celtics on Wednesday night, as the NBA pays tribute to the late Jerry Buss, while Rudy Gay faces his former team for the first time as the Toronto Raptors host the Memphis Grizzlies.

College Basketball Preview:

Big Ten Showdown Looms Tuesday With Top-Ranked Indiana Visiting No. 4 Michigan State

After holding down the No. 1 spot in the nation through the weekend with a win over Purdue, the top-ranked Indiana Hoosiers will look to make it four in a row when they visit the No. 4 Michigan State Spartans on Tuesday. Indiana managed to beat the Spartans 75-70 at home in late January, and will try to avoid stumbling with back-to-back road games including a date at Minnesota early next week. Maintaining that top spot certainly won’t be easy down the final stretch either, as after consecutive road games the Hoosiers host Iowa and Ohio State before visiting No. 7 Michigan for their season finale. Meanwhile, the No. 2 Miami Hurricanes are back on the floor Tuesday as well as they host Virginia, while third-ranked Gonzaga hosts Santa Clara on Wednesday.
