NFL Betting Preview: Ravens, 49ers Ready For Super Bowl XLVII Showdown Sunday

From the battle of the Harbaugh brothers to it being the final game of Ray Lewis’ storied career, the incredible rise of young Colin Kaepernick or Joe Flacco’s emergence as a franchise quarterback, there is no shortage of storylines to pay attention to this Super Bowl weekend. Sunday’s game will feature a Baltimore Ravens’ team that nobody thought would get to Super Bowl XLVII, but knocked off a pair of Super Bowl favorites in the Denver Broncos and New England Patriots to get there. Meanwhile, the San Francisco 49ers have completed their mission to the big stage after falling short in last year’s NFC Championship game, and will get their shot at redemption.

NHLSportsbook Preview: Crosby vs. Ovechkin Headlines Matinee Games Super Bowl Sunday

While the entire world will be watching when the Ravens and 49ers clash, hockey fans will be treated to a classic rivalry game as Sidney Crosby and the Pittsburgh Penguins take on Alex Ovechkin and the Washington Capitals earlier in the day. The concussion that kept Crosby out of the lineup for most of last season and the Capitals’ slow start has somewhat faded the hype heading in to this contest, but with both teams needing a win the energy and enthusiasm in this game should set it apart from the rest on a busy weekend of NHL hockey.

NBA Preview: Lakers Must Find Ways To Win On The Road

With their playoff chances fading, the Los Angeles Lakers need to find a way to win games away from the Staples Center as they continue a seven-game road trip on Sunday against the Detroit Pistons. The Lakers looked strong during a three-game winning streak but that came to a sudden halt with a loss to the Phoenix Suns, the type of defeat that Los Angeles simply can’t afford. While the Pistons are not a pushover team, the Lakers need to be able to get the victory and get back on track Sunday. The Lakers aren’t the only team fighting to keep its playoff hopes alive either, as the Boston Celtics host the Los Angeles Clippers on Sunday clinging to the eighth and final playoff spot in the Eastern Conference, and without Rajon Rondo.
